Section 1. Qualifications for Membership - The applicants for membership must possess the following qualifications:
a. Must be a citizen of the Philippines;
b. Must have good standing in the community;
c. Must not have been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude;
d. The age requirement for MAGIC GROUP is at least Twenty-One (21) years old.
Section 2. Foreign Nationals – may be accepted as members after passing through the process of recruitment and after satisfying the qualifications for membership except for Section 1.a. Article III, above. They shall however be residents of the Philippines, having legitimate businesses in the country, or employed in any legitimate company operating in the Philippines holding Philippine visa categories as working or permanent residents. Visiting foreign nationals holding a tourist visa are not qualified. With regard to the International Chapters, the respective Regional Founders are allowed to process membership applications of foreign nationals provided that such applicants shall have made significant contributions to the cause of the TGBI and possess all other qualifications for membership.
Section 3. Pre-Membership Requirements – The Pre-Membership Requirements are:
a. Application – An applicant shall accomplish an official application form duly endorsed by any bona fide member, known as Sponsor, of the Association which shall be submitted to the Membership Committee of the Chapter concerned for evaluation.
b. Presentation of Applicant – The applicant shall be presented to the Membership Committee by the Sponsor during the scheduled meeting called for the purpose where the former shall state his/her personal circumstances and the reasons for joining the Association. An objection from any member of the Membership Committee shall defer action on the application. If there is no objection, the application process shall continue.
c. Background Investigation – A background investigation shall be conducted by the Membership Committee to ensure the fitness or unfitness of the prospective member. The applicant may be required to present a police clearance and/or medical certificate.
d. Orientation Seminar/Lecture – The sponsor is held responsible for the orientation of his/her recommended. The Membership Committee shall designate a resource speaker to lecture on principles, nature, purpose, objectives, membership, and financial obligations in accordance with these By-Laws. This is usually undertaken in a group of applicants.
e. Indoctrination Rites – Selected officers shall take exclusive responsibility for the indoctrination rites. It has been the practice of the TGBI to adopt certain customs and traditions making it unique from other organizations.
f. Acceptance – In this final stage, the incoming members are presented to the Chapter concerned in an appropriate ceremony.
